The Second Industry Forum of PPP "Investment in the sports industry" will be held in Kazan

On November 7, 2018, in the capital of Tatarstan, the Second Industry Forum of PPP "Investment in the sports industry" will be held at the "Kazan Arena" stadium.

The organizers of the event are Tatarstan Investment Development Agency together with the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation with the support of the National PPP Center.

For the first time the PPP Forum was held last year, bringing together 350 participants from 4 countries and 17 regions of Russia. The role of private investment in the sports industry, the effective use of facilities and increasing the investment attractiveness of sports infrastructure, the implementation of PPP in the construction and operation of sports facilities, the problem of budget co-financing, as well as the latest trends in the market of PPP projects are among the key issues of the event of this year.

Tatarstan is one of the sports leaders among the Russian regions. The republic hosted such important world events as the World Summer Universiade 2013, FINA World Championships 2015, as well as FIFA World Cup 2018. Thanks to the high achievement, the slogan "Kazan is the sports capital of Russia" appeared.

The Republic of Tatarstan is among the leaders of the National rating of investment attractiveness of the Russian entities and is a part of top 15 regions-leaders in terms of the level of PPP development.

"The sports industry plays a significant role in the development of the economy, providing the consumer with modern and affordable facilities, equipment, goods and services. In recent years, there is a recovery in development of sports industry in Russia. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, in 2017 the volume of the national market of the sports industry amounted to 600 billion rubles. State investment programs in the field of physical training and sports and the largest international sport events became the instruments of growth. Today the sports industry faces the new task: move from budget funding to public-private partnerships. This is a new challenge for the industry development, that will open great prospects and many opportunities for investors!" - the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina indicated.

The results of the Forum will form the basis of proposals for the implementation of the program to support project PPP initiatives.
